Abstract

Education is a conscious and planned effort to create a learning atmosphere and learning process so that students actively develop their potential to have religious spiritual strength, self-control, personality, intelligence, noble character, and skills needed by themselves, society, nation and state. Education is also the learning of knowledge, skills, and habits of a group of people that are passed down from one generation to the next through teaching, training, or research. Education can be done through the guidance of others or self-taught. The most important factor and greatly affects the quality of education is the professionalism of teachers in learning activities. Educational Institutions and Education Personnel apply teachers as a profession and establish competency-based curriculum. Teacher competence includes four things, namely personal competence, professional competence, social competence, and pedagogic competence. In relation to educational professionals, teacher competence is very much needed to meet standards in the implementation of educational tasks which include characteristics that are relevant to teaching and are quality-oriented. In addition, there must also be high appreciation and recognition for teachers in order to produce quality education.
